What is a multi-city flight loop?
A round trip that starts and ends in the same city and visits one or more other cities in between, with a real stay in each one instead of a short layover. Penguin Hops builds these loops by combining one-way budget airline fares.
How is this different from Google Flights or Skyscanner?
Those search one trip at a time between airports you already chose. Penguin Hops does the opposite: it looks across a whole month and builds ready-made loops that visit several cities and return home, so you discover combinations you would not have thought to search for. Use it to find the trip, then book the individual flights anywhere.
Are the prices guaranteed?
No. Each price adds up the cheapest fares we found for the dates shown, when we last checked. Fares change often, so treat it as a starting point and check the airline site before you book.
What does the price include?
Only the flights, on each airline's basic fare. That usually means one small bag that fits under the seat; a larger cabin bag, a checked bag and choosing a seat cost extra. Places to stay, airport transfers, local transport and city taxes are not included, and together they often cost more than the flights. Add them up before you decide on a trip.
Why don't you show flight departure times?
The data source Penguin Hops uses returns the cheapest fare and date for each route but not the departure time. Showing exact times would need a separate lookup per flight; it is on the list, but for now check the time on the airline site before you book.
How do I book a loop?
You book each flight separately with the airline. Every segment links to the airline booking page with the route and date pre-filled where possible.
What happens if one of the flights is cancelled?
Each flight is its own booking. If an airline cancels or moves one, it only has to rebook or refund that flight; the other flights and your stays are not protected, and you would have to change them yourself. Staying a few days in each city leaves room to rebook, and travel insurance that covers missed onward travel can help.
Why is a city or a loop I expected missing?
Penguin Hops only uses flights that cost up to 100 € each, and for every route it takes the cheapest date of the month. A loop is left out when one of its flights costs more than that, or when the cheapest dates cannot be flown in order. Fewer stops, another month or looser filters often bring it back.
How fresh are the prices?
Each loop shows the date its prices were last checked. Fares are checked again regularly, but budget airline prices move fast, so always confirm on the airline site.
